Just what are all these 93′s you see dotted around the Thelemic world?
Good question; and a fair one too. It is even contested within the Thelemic community as to whether they should be used at all. But that doesn’t answer the question, does it…
93 is the enumeration (Qabalisticly speaking) of two central words in the Thelemic phylosophy; Thelema and Agape. Thelema meaning ‘Will’ in Greek and Agape means ‘Love’.
To make life easier for me I’ll refer you directly to a Wikipedia article on this very subject as whoever wrote it has done a reasonable job and made it simple enough to understand – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/93_(Thelema). When I say simple, I don’t mean totalk down to anyone, it’s just that some Thelemic sites try to match Crowleys verbosity which isn’t easy to follow unless you’ve read quite a bit of his work.
In summary, 93 93/93 is a short hand way of fulfilling Aleister Crowley’s advice that Thelemites should quote the Law in all correspondance, and the 93′s are a shorthand way of doing so.
And another thing… should anyone be interested, I have a new Twitter account – @Frater66 – which is rarely used but now remains entirely Thelemic. To be honest, I use it to keep abreast of all things New Aeony and I rarely feel I have anything worthy to contribute, but that may just be false modesty… who knows?

It was recently that I realised that I had neglected this site somewhat and in doing so I gathered myself up and delved into what was possible to add. The post yesterday – Weak Willed? – was a draft that I had penned a while back, so up it went. I have added a new page – Opus – and a couple of sub-pages to that where various rubbish will be placed that doesn’t warrant a post. Some may call them articles, I call them ramblings.
I have also added a few more links, mainly to point to Thelemic texts that I feel deserve some exposure.
Anyway, that is all… move along…

To pursue one’s Will is the ultimate goal of many a Thelemite and any who manage to discover their true Will will probably attest to a burning desire to proceed unencumbered. Knowledge of Thelemic doctrine will assist those who know it, but eventual Knowledge and Conversation with their HGA will dispose them of any need for further guidance from other less ethereal sources. Thelema has copious amounts of guidance in all fields of life and many institutions exist to guide the eager to their end desire. But what of the solitary?
I do not attest to knowing even the faintest smidgen of my true Will and have come nowhere near to peeking at my HGA, let alone having a chat. I search and investigate, try new things, discover old knowledge I had forgotten I used to know and generally bumble around not really pointing in any one direction because none of them ‘feel’ right.
Weak willed? I don’t think so. I believe that the basic idea of Thelema, a True and Holy Will, a purpose behind our incarnation, is ‘probably’ correct as the opposite of that is too horrible to consider. I don’t believe in the idea of a great bearded deity lording it over his domain but then I don’t believe in the lack of any form of spiritual being, angel, demon or otherwise. For all I know, the Stargate series on TV could be correct and all spiritual beings could be an ancient race that learned how to do away with their corporeal bodies and ascended to another plane of existence. It could be that all spiritual communications are with these beings.
But I digress…
(Continued)
Should anyone be bothered, they will notice the site is undergoing a bit of renovation. I am trying to apply the KISS philosophy (Keep It Simple Stupid) and this may end up with the blog section becoming even less used than it is now… or it could be updated more often… or not… ahem…
I’ve wanted to restructure the place to allow articles to be added without necessarily having to surf to a poorly updated blog first of all. I have added a page about why I chose ’66′ as my motto already and an incomplete comment on Liber Al will be up soon however this is a work in progress so what goes up will be an incomplete ‘An Incomplete Comment’.
Anyway, other stuff will hopefully arrive over time, much of which will be a personal archive of writings I decide I want on here. If anyone finds it useful, great, but it really isn’t a place to educate yourselves. Uncle Al should be your first stop, then your own heart.
I will put up some links but it won’t be like the now defunct ‘Thelema Link Resource’ as that was just too much like hard work to keep up to date and other sites seem to do a better job anyway.
